Prickly plant with small fruits that taste like cherries.
Can hardly be surpassed in terms of curiosity. The closed fruits look like lychees, the stalks and outer leaves have spines and the taste is reminiscent of cherries. The approx. 1.50 m high plant can be kept and cared for like a normal tomato plant, but should be fertilized every four weeks. The prickly fruit capsules recede as they ripen. Thanks to its special taste, the litchi tomato is also ideal for jam, liqueur or fruit juice.
